    Cant get Anime below 1gig....

Hi, im using Flask and DiVX 4,12 and i cant seem to get the file size of this movie below 1.2gig, nevermind 1 gig. I am converting 720x480 to 640x320. I am using YV12 encoding because its faster (i tried with RGB too, and cant notice any difference in quality/filesize cept its slower).

Im am ripping at 1000kbit, and have tried all sorts of quantizers. I was trying 8 for max and 2 for min, but the file size was 1.2gig, now i have tried lots and ended up on 12 for max and 4 for min, but the movie is looking quite blocky now and the file size is STILL just under 1.2gig. I'd ideally like the filesize to be 750mb MAX when done. I am using performance/quality slow, rate control av. frames 2000, rate control react. frames 10 and up and down react. 20. The maximum key frame interval is 300. I am ripping the audio to 128bit stereo.

I am using mihas x87 Fast iDCT and Bressenahm Filtering.

Can someone please please tell me the settings to use on flask and DiVX controls to get good quality but get the filesize down to 750mb? I even tried 2 pass encoding and this didnt help much either.

    Thanks guys.

Sorry there really is no easy answer to this.
Anime's can be difficult, or so I hear, I have zero experience with this myself,
Using virtualdub* (or maybe nandub) and a lot of filtering might help u get lower filesize with same quality.
But I doubt u will get it down to 750, with decent quality unless u lower the res to something like 512*X.
If size lower than 750 mb is an absolut must this is probably the best solution.
Personally I would stay with a 2 CD rip.

*For a virtualdub/nandub made easy tool, go take a look at GordianKnot
