Dear Anyone,
I recently bought a PDR150, and it seems that there are random problems with its recording process. Some clips, when rendered and burned (to DVD) show squiggly lines around action and movement. You can't see them through the editing software, by viewing the avi file, or by watching the DVD on an external DVD drive (like the aleratec cruiser). But the DVD shows them on consumer DVD players. I've tried to recapture the clips, and the lines always show up in the same place on the same clips and follow them through the editing process unseen, and then appear on the final project. Even the burning software, DVDit PE doesn't show the lines on the MPEG2 files (though ULead's Workshop did). It must originate with the camera. I'm using xp Pro, Priemeire 6.5, and have tried encoding with their 1.3b encoder and DVDit, and MainConcept, at various constant bit rates, lower and upper field, mode 1 and 128, constant quality, interlacing and then deinterlacing the clip etc. Nothing has helped. I'm hoping that someone can lead me through the advanced setting for the encoder, or just flat answer the mystery. I see options for motion etc there which seem like they could provide a fix (until I get the camera fixed). I need an encoding expert. I hope someone can help me or direct me to one. This project is two weeks late, and others backing up, and hours of video to capture and shoot, but I'm holding all that up until I can find a fix. Thanks for your help.
