    Whats the point of a Compressiability Check in GK

    Whats the point of a Compressiability Check in Gordian Knot. If i dont do it... will it affect my final .avi?

    No, the compressability chech has no direct impact on the encoding of the final avi file.

    The point of the compressability check is, that you can use it to get an indication of how well the movie compresses.
    The compression check will give you a procentage value between 0 and 100, which tells you how close your currently selected filesize is to the filesize of a maximum quality encode. It's usually adviced to go for a compressability of at least 60%.

    That beeing said, I have never used it much myself, I prefer to go by instinct and the bpp (bits per pixel) values. A bpp around 0.2 is usually a good choice for a DVD rip.
