how do I do second pass only in nandub?

    HI

I have an easy question. I am trying to make a divx using gordian knot & nandub, with 2 passes. It took a very long time and I had to stop it during the second pass. Is there any way I can do only the second pass again and how do I do it? I still have the stats file from the first pass. I used the option in the file menu '2 passes' to do the encoding.

    Thanks

Firstly, have the file (or frameserver; whichever you are using) open in nandub. Then configure all settings exactly the same as the previously (that includes having the STATS file generated selected in nandub). Finally, go to File -> Save as AVI and assign a name. The encoding will proceed and you should have your file at the end of the day.

I am not sure how to select the stats file. Can you please give me step by step instructions. This is what i've done so far.

      1. Open the .avs file
      2. SBC option, bitrate calculator (final size = cd size minus mp3 file)
      3. SBC options , SBC settings, compression levels, keyframe options, I entered 2 & 4. (according to a guide!)
      4. Audio, select No Audio

Now if I go to file 2 passes it asks me for the filename, then it asks me for the stats file name, if I was to select the old stats file from the previous first pass I'm sure it would replace that file and do it all again for another 13 hours so I haven't done that. How can I select the stats file and do the second pass only?

      Thanks

Use File -> Save as AVI, instead of File -> 2 Passes.

The former will run the second pass (using the selected STATS file) whereas the latter will run the full-blown 2 pass encoding mode.

Here is how you assign a STATS file in nandub.

              Cheers!
