    deinterlacing in vdub

I am capturing video out of my home video camera , then i plan on converting it to divx using virtual dub. I noticed that the video contained horizontal lines whenever the picture moved. Ex. someone running etc. What would be the best way to correct this. Or should i just use gordian knot to start with and use the field deinterlace option. If i open virtual dub then use the internal deinterlacing filter it saves the file and it most of the lines are gone, but i am noticing errors in the picture. There are still some lines These are not as noticable but still a little irritating. It just seems like the picture was cut horizontally through the middle and it is kind of off. I captured the file using virtual dub. I went back and looked at the original and these errors were in it too. That is the best way that i can describe it. Im sure it wont help but I
Hope this makes sense to someone , ok thnks

You should take the time to read Nicky'pages about deinterlacing..

try using an avisynth frame server and the appropriate deinterlace filters- do it via gordianknot as you said.
or maybe somebody knows a good vdub filter ?
