    24fps > 25fps - scanning for added duplicate frame

I have an AVI file that is 25fps. The original source however, is 23.9fps.
This means that every second there is 1 added duplicate frame.
In Virtual Dub I can clearly see this. When I want to remove these duplicate frames I could do this manually, but since it is a 2 hour long AVI file, it would take forever to do this.

Is there a way to "scan" an AVI file for duplicate frames and delete them automatically?

    1) What problem, if any, is the version at 25fps presenting to you?

    2) If the audio and video are out of synch as a consequence, try the following:

    A) Load the file into VirtualDub

    B) Set both "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    C) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate" - and choose "Change framerate to" and enter 23.976 (not 23.9)

    D) Save with a new filename
