    1) Open ONLY the second .AVI in VirtualDub (or one of its variants)

    2) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Interleaving"

    4) Set the "Audio skeew" to 1,200Ms (You may have to adjust this amount)

    5) Save with a new filename

    6) (Cautionary) Close VirtualDub

    7) Open VirtualDub

    8) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    9) Load the first segment

    10) Append the NEW (revised) .AVI

    11) Save with a new filename

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Appending is better this way...

      Do the following:

      1) De-multiplex your AVIs using Virtual Dub Mod(or Nandub),
creating 2 AVI files with no-audio and 2 WAV files.

      2) Join your no-sound AVIs in Virtual Dub (you can name
your temporary files A and B, so A+B= final AVI file).

      3) Join your WAVs first using the open append feature in Cool Edit, and then convert the final WAV file to mp3 (or whatever compressed format you are using)

      4) Multiplex again your final AVI and WAV files using Virtual Dub or Nandub

This is a more secure method and never fails unless your AVI
      audio is in AC3 format...
