    Jerky Playback after Encoding

Hi all.... i`ve re-encoded a film from AVI to MPEG1 using TMPGEnc the quality and sound are brill ... but the playback is jerky.... ripping a DVD is jerky too but not as noticable as the re-encoded AVI... is there a setting in TMPGEnc that will eliminate this or at least make it more acceptable?

    Many thanks...

find out what fps the avi is, eg 23.976, 29.97 or 25 (summary of the file properties or use a program)

then choose the format in the wizard with the same fps encoding
    eg.
    NTSC for 29.97
    NTSC Film for 23.976
    PAL for 25

Then, (optional) you can tick "Do not frame rate conversion" under the advance tab
