automatically find bad frames in an avi

    Hello,

I'm searching for a way for finding, in an avi, frames that have adjacent tiles (4x4 or 8x8 squares, you know) that change very differently, resulting in a visible boundary between them. Is there a software that can find them automatically?

    Thanks in advance

I don't know if the same methodology is used but, the most recent versions of both VirtualDub and VirtualDubMOD have the ability to scan .AVIs for bad frames (and mask them, should you choose)...

I think he was refering to the little 8x8 grey-looking blocks caused by encoding with div3 codec with nandub that apears mostly at parts with motion...

if this is the case... then i dont know of any any methods to detect or remove them...

On a side note, when making avi's with div3, use the "anti-****" feature in gordian knot to prevent the 8x8 blocks from being encoded in the first place.
