Video rendering rate in VirtualDubMod

I have a P3 - 1.2Ghz with 512MB PC133. I can only get 10-15 frames per sec when encoding. I seem to remember getting a lot higher than that before I had to reinstall the OS, but cannot remember if there was a setting to speed it up. I have the codec set for level 6 motion precision, H..263 Quantization on the first pass and New Modulated HQ on the 2nd, and Mode Decision VHQ. Please help me, it's taking 2.5 hours to convert a 20 min XSVCD to XviD.

Sorry, listed wrong PC (Not that it really matters) but it is a P4 1.8Ghz with 512MB.
