    Resize a divx file

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for providing great tips on DivX. I would appreciate it if you could help me with my problem :

    - I've encoded a DVD into DivX but the filesize turned out to be 100mb more than what I expected.

    - I tried to resize the DivX movie in VirtualDub using the resize filter but this resulted in the filesize becoming even larger even after I used the DivX codec and mp3 codecs to compress the file again

Am I using the right technique? Only the bitrate has to be much lower or something? Also, each time I recompress a DivX, is the loss in quality noticeable?

    Many thanks in advance

You would do well to repeat the compression from the ripped DVD source, instead of the DivX file.

      Cheers.
