    Help in compressing

Could some one help me in trying to compress a video file? I can record 30 seconds of video using Divx 4.12 and it ends up being about 10 megs. I would like to get it down a lot more than that.
    Thank you

What kind of audio compression are you using ?
With video alone you bitrate is something like 2800kbits per second.

With divx4 u should use 2-pass encoding and select the bitrate u need for the desired filesize.

I am some what new but I am using divx 4 or any other codec ( huffy) (brooktree). I have it set to 100% on quality and 1500 all the way to 6000 on bit rate. My audio is the standard PCM 16 bit stereo. Any idea's?

        30 sec. audio PCM 16bit stereo corresponds to 48000*2*2*30=5760000 ~= 5.7 MB
