Weird cropping problem

I'm having a little problem that I've not seen posted anywhere. Whenever I encode my video through DivX & VirtualDub (with an uncompressed source), the image looks good but it's slightly cropped at the sides, and zoomed in a little. It's supposed to be 16X9 but when I put it through DivX the aspect ratio is messed up, kinda like what pan & scan does but not all the way. Can anyone help me with this?

if you used the autocrop feature in gknot and experienced problems, maybe you should try to manually crop your movies. after all, you know how your movie should look better than any software.
