2nd pass 30% slower than 1st pass in divx 5.1.1 ?!

in divx 5.0.2 the 2nd pass is always about 30% faster than the 1st pass (for a two pass encoding)

i've encoded about 10 times with divx 5.1.1 and i've found that the 2nd pass is about 20% to 30% SLOWER than the 1st pass even though both passes are standard with 1st pass write log file + write mv file and 2nd pass update log file + read mv file.

i though read mv file for 2nd pass would make it faster than 1st pass, not slower. anyone can shed light on this?

That's odd...Mine has been faster on the second pass. I just recently finished my first video. On slowest mode it took 11 hours on the first pass; 8 hours on the second.
