Difference between FPU and MMX???

Whats the difference between MMX and FPU encoding? It says MMX is faster but FPU is better quality, so is MMX worse??!?

The difference is that fpu calculations use higher precision, and should therefore give higher quality (theoretically).

But if you are talking about mmx and fpu iDCT algorithms in flask(decoding), I have tested this by transcodeing to uncompressed video and I absolutly cannot tell the difference.
