Do you ever leaver you system running overnight and wish you could automatically turn it off when your encoding is done? If so, I just found a nice freeware program you may appreciate:
AMP WinOFF
(Look under Utilities.)
It sits in your system tray and monitors your CPU activity. When the CPU drops to the idle-level of your choice (say, 99%), WinOFF closes all programs, exits Windows, and powers off your system.
You can specify how long the CPU must stay at that idle-level before shutting down. You can even save a screenshot of the desktop before exiting Windows.
It can also suspend, hibernate, restart, run other programs, lock the desktop, and lots of other stuff. It's very easy to use, too. Check it out---and if you like it, drop the author a note and let him know.
Cheers, Ander
