    Few questions about encoding ......

Hi , I`m total n00b in encoding , so I`m asking you for a few tips.
I use #1 DVD ripper and I have DivX 5.2.0 and ffdshow .
Which one of these 2 encoders is better ?
I`d also like to know how should I preset each of these two encoders to get smallest possible file with best possble performance . For example : how should I preset DivX (or ffdshow) to be able to put 2 hours of acceptable quality .avi on single CD ...
    Thanks

Ffdshow is not a encoder, its a decoder...

Ffvfw that comes with ffdshows is a encoder !!!

But as n00b you shouldn't use ffvfw...

To put 2h movie @ 1CD use DivX or XviD !!!

Use b-frames, de-noise the source and downsize it...

Read some guides and search for a tool called Gordian Knot !!!

    Bye
