    Encoding for the web

Hi all.... Im incredibly new at this... but trying to read as much as possible.
Ive notice that alot of encoding discussion is based on DVDs.

I actually have a mini DV camera and would like to take my footage..and play it on the web.

Does anyone recommend a format or program that would be best for playing video online.
Ans which would be the best quality for the smallest file size.
Im not going to be having 1.5 hrs of footage.. but anyhere from a minute to 15 minutes of footage.
If this has already been posted somewhere i apologize...
Im just looking for a solution to video online.

    Thanks Phinhead

Of course, since you're posting to this topic (under DivX), you can use DivX to publish to the web. You can find DivX tools that will help you at http://www.divx.com/divx

What have you considered so far? If there's anything in specific you need somebody could offer more help.
