    Splitting XVid file without recoding?

    Hi there,
I'm trying to split a 1,5 Gb xVid movie into two parts. Unfortunately neither VirtualDub nor NanDub are able to open the file correctly. And yes, I do have the newest xVid codec installed and I can also watch the movie...
So, I tried a few other (freeware/shareware) tools like sid video cutter, XVideoConverter, Easy Movie Splitter or Video Slice. So far Video Slice was the only one which could handle the file and create two working output files. However it recoded the whole movie thus losing a lot of image quality. So now I ask, is there any other program you can recommend to split the file at a key frame (not recoding it)? Or is there a possibility to recode it without losing quality or increasing file size?

    Thanks in advance!

"Unfortunately neither VirtualDub nor NanDub are able to open the file correctly."

Does VirtualDub generate an Error Message? If so, what is the EXACT wording?

      ALSO

      1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

      2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

      3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box
