    Flask Problems

    Hi to all

I have a bit of a problem here!!

    My PC is as follows:

    CPU: AthlonXP 1600+
    RAM: 256MB DDR
    MB: Soltek 75DRV (KT266)
    HDD: 20GB (Seagate Baracuda)
VGA: Gigabyte Geforce 2 PRO 64MB DDR

When I try to convert a DVD Movie to DivX, the speed is only 12 - 15 fps??!!??

I have seen alot less powerfull PCs go nearly realtime and i have heard that AthlonXP power systems have gone past realtime!!!
    Do you have any ideas?

I'm running Windows XP Pro and the DivX is v4.12, Flask is the last that have been made. XMPEG by some reason works slower than Flask and crashes alot.

And for the picture to be full I encode ta the native DVD resolution: 720x576 for PAL and the audio is the Radium MP3 Codec.

I hope that someone have any ideas!

Bye for now, I'll be waiting

I would say that speed is okay for the CPU. You can increase the encoding speed by disabling any deinterlace options (if your source is not interlaced), or by using faster methods, like frameserving to Virtual/Nandub.
