    3ivx conversion

    Hey,

I have a movie that is in a 3ivx format (the file finishes with "d4.3ivx"). This file will only play in quicktime and real one player but not in media player - even though i have to 3ivx codecs installed.

The real problem is that i want to write this file to a dvd but my authoring software crashes or cannot recognise the file type when i import the movie.

Is there any way that i can convert this file to a more common codec?

    Thanks, Oli

    1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

When i try to load the file in VirtualDub i get an error message: "Cannot Detect File Type Of "***.d4.3ivx.mov"

Basically it cant recognise it i think. The file only plays in quicktime and RealOne player and every other application rejects it.

      thanks, Oli

        "the file finishes with 'd4.3ivx'"

"Cannot Detect File Type Of "***.d4.3ivx.mov"

Use TMPGEnc, plus the QTReader plugin to convert to DVD-compliant MPEG-2 format (Use the TMPGEnc DVD "wizard"/template)...
