Problem for Compiling Virtualdub 1_4_8

Hi could you help me for this problem :

During VirtualDub compiling the compiler is frozen when the following message is displayed :

------Configuration : VirtueDub-Win32 Debug
Performing Custom Build Step on ._mpeg_idct_max.asm

I used VisualC++ 6.0 PRO

The 3 directories sylia,amplib_new,VirtualDub have been created in the same directory

In each directory the following zip files have been decompressed :

sylia :sylia-src-1_01
amplib :NekoAmp-src-1_4
VirtualDub :VirtualDub-source-1_4_8 and VirtualDub-auxsrc-1_4_8

My PC is a Dell Pentium 4 1,6 Ghz with Millenium

I have compile first vdsvrnlk, vdremote then VirtualDub.

Although I'm not able to help you regarding your compiling problem, I'm curious to know WHY you are trying to compile VirtualDub.

I assume you are aware of the fact that you are able to download the completed binary, without need to compile, aren't you?

It seems that I don't have the Microsoft Macro Assembler (MASM) m1.exe on my machine. It should explain that the compiler is frozen when it wants to deal with mpeg_idct.asm.
I don't know where I can find a compatible MASM with vdub.
