    Audio problems with 2-pass encoding

Been experimenting with 2-pass encoding using DivX 5 and Flask, but for some reason i get no audio. There have been no previous problems with my setup during 1-pass encoding. The properties of the finished avi after the second pass state that there is audio but Virtualdub and WMP can't find it. When opening the playa it says that there are virtual memory problems although i have plenty of room on my harddisks. Can't find any info on this problem, is it common?

Have you made sure that Flask Decodes Audio and that you selected an audio compressor already?

And just in case you don't know what's happening, you wouldn't be playing the resultant AVI file from the 2-pass, first pass run, would you?

Cheers but the audio codec was selected first and was viewing the avi created from the 2nd pass. in the end i just extracted the audio separately as a wav file then added it to the movie using virtualdub. it may have just been the dvd though as the problem didn't reoccur with another film.

Generally, it is a good idea to process the audio and video separately. Glad to know it's working out for you.

Just a pointer though. You should convert your audio to MP3 track for a smaller filesize. But I'm sure you've done that, haven't you?
