Problem with div3 coded .mov file

    Hi,

I've got a problem with a .mov file (probably div3 coded). I think it was originaly converted from .avi to .mov (for it work in a macintosh). Anyway, I've only got the .mov file, and it doesn't play on my pc. I've tried with several movieplayers, and I've got the latest divx codec installed. Is anyone familiar with this problem?

    Ideas would be much appreciated!

A .mov file is played by an appropriate player that is Quicktime. In no way can it be a DivX-compressed movie file.

      strange...

That's weird. I've tried to open it with Quicktime, but I only hear the sound and get a white screen. If I let Quicktime display info on the file, it tells me that it has the format "div3".

      ?

Try changing the file extension to .avi. Firstly, try playing it with a media player again. If it does not work, try opening it in Virtualdub and post the File Information (if possible).
