I encoded a movie godfater and when i try to play it windows media player gives me an error saying, "cannot play file, the format is not supported" whats wrong?

What did you use to encode it?
Which codec, which program/s etc?
The only thing I can say with theese little fact is that you miss some codec and you need to have that codec installed before you can watch the movie... but if you have decoded it yourself thet doesn't make much sense either... give me the fact and maybe I can help you better
