    SVCD to DIVX help

    I need some help converting an SVCD to DivX. I have tried encoding in XMpeg 4.5 but the

    resulting video is a bit jerky during panning scenes. I have tried encoding with 23.976 and

    29.97 fps. When I encode at 29.97 it is less jerky but it is still noticeable.

    This is what XMpeg says about the original MPEG2 file:

    Video Size : 480 x 480 pixels
    Bitrate: 2450000 bps
    Aspect Ratio: 4:3
    Video Structure: Interlaced
    Fps: NTSC 29.97 fps
    Detected fps: FILM 23.976 fps

    Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Cheers

    Change your setting back to 23.976fps.
    Select deinterlace - and select a filter
    If the jerkiness occurred with "Reconstruct Progressive Images" unchecked, put a check mark in the box. If it occurred with the box already checked, uncheck it.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

        Each one provides different results (I guess that's why they're all available). I'm afraid you'll have to experiment with a short snippet of the video and decide for yourself (I actually believe that the single built-in deinterlace filter of the older Flask v.0.594PX3 generates better results than any of these specialized filters - but other posters would "get all over my case" for being so blasphemous).

          I would let GordianKnot do the job for me. I have done it once with LOTR and it worked out fine after a little bit of trouble (my fault).
