help to resolve the directshow question

    Hello,

I am a directshow developer, but I haven't many experiences. Now, I encounter a problem. How to convert a period of MPEG-1 file into a new MPEG file(MPEG-1,MPEG-4 or DIVX)?

My project is based on motion detection. It will analysis a MPEG-1 video, recording the starttime and stoptime when motion happens.

For example,I know a movement from the 36 second to the 114 second and from the 180 second to the 210 second. Then I use directshow DES funtion to create a XTL file dynamically which could bring the two periods of video together.

The final step is changing it into a new file. But directshow can store it in AVI or ASF format and doesn't contain a MPEG encoder. What should I do?my program will run automatically, so I can't use other software such as Adobe Premiere to finish it.

If we could get such a encoder, how to connect it into directshow DES?

By the way, my project is just a supervisory equipment research. It's best for me to use free encoding filter.

I hope you could help me resolve the problem. If you have any good solution, please send me a e-mail.

    Thanks a lot.
