    1) Load the file into VirtualDub

    2) Set "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying"

    3) Set "Video" to "Full Processing Mode"

    4) From under the "Video" menu, select "Compression" - choose the v.3.11 codec

    5) From under the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and enter a new filename

    When you've finished all of your conversions, uninstall the v.5.0 codec.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      You may want to use nandub for the conversion in order to preserve the quality.

        Can you convert an mpeg file to divx using nadub? Because when I tried I got a "big screen error"=) I don't know why.

          To Erci

          You can convert MPEG1 files with either NanDub or VirtualDub. You CANNOT convert MPEG2 files with either...

            I now I can't convert MPE 2 files, but still I get something wrong with nandub on the same file that's working with VirtualDub. That's why I wondered.

              To Erci

              That's perplexing, in light of the fact that NanDub is merely an enhanced version of VirtualDub...

                Yes I think so to but I only know that it's like that. I don't know if I have any settings wrong in nadub.
