on most of my rips when I am finished they play great no prob, but I make them big for better quality and need to cut them in half or thirds I use virtual dub and it works ok but the second half usually starts out kind of glitchy for the first minute or so, I have also tried AVI chop and get the same thing. I can live with it but if there is a way to fix it I would like to. thanks
Cut Problem

1) When using VirtualDub for splitting, make certain to cut on a keyfrmame AND to start the second (or third) part on the VERY SAME frame
2) Use VirtualDub v.1_4_9, 1_4_10, or 1.4D or earlier, as other versions (1_4_6, etc.) appear to have been buggy in this specific area

Since I've never had the problem you've described with any of the many DivX-compressed .AVIs that I've created, I've always stuck with VirtualDub I continue to use v.1.4D for this purpose).
Your audio IS interleaved every frame, isn't it?
Your audio ISN'T DivXStereo (the 3.11 hack of WMA audio) is it?
If the audio isn't/may not be/you don't know interleaved every frame, load the original .AVI into VirtualDub, set both "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying". Make certain that "Interleaving" is set to "every 1 frame" and resave the file with a new filename. Then exit VirtualDub. Then restart VIrtualDub. Then load and try cutting the revised file...Comment
