Please Help, converted file Has No Audio

    hi,
I converted a DivX file to mpeg (VCD) using TMPG encoder,
I thought this program takes care of Audio as well,
converted file has no audio at all,
    what did i do wrong?

should I use another program to extactc the audio first?

    appreciate your help.

do you know any instruction anywhere available, for this,
I have read how to use the Virtual dub for joining two AVI files, but have no idea how use is for Audio.

To extract the audiostream as a .WAV file, simply load the video into VirtualDub and, from the "File" dropdown menu, selct "Save as WAV". Enter a new filename with a .WAV extender...

              thanx for the reply,

OK, I tried, when i tried to load the first file ( divX)
I got a message that telling me:

" Virtual Dub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during prosessing for the better compatibility this may introduce up to 59633 ms of skew from videostream. if this is unacceptable, decompress the active aduio stream to an uncompressed wave file and compress with a constant bitrade encode ( bitrate: 139.8 +- 33.2 kbps) "

but clicked OK, and then save the file as wave, now what do i do with it, no idea for the next process.

to mention that i tried to join another file of this movie, but when I load the second file I got a error message that says, these two files do not have the same sampling rate.

              thanx for reply,

Don't know which prog you r using to encode but if using tmpgenc load the original file as the video source and the new wave file as the audio source and then just encode. If merging 2 files together they have to be encoded at the same bitrate. Also there are great "how to tutorials" at www.vcdhelp.com
