Any way to add blank frames to a divx file?

I wanted to know if there is any way to add just blank frames to a divx file with VirtualDub or the sort. I have a set of subtitles that are a few seconds off and I wanted to take up that lag with just blank frames, because there isn't an easy way to reconfigure the subtitle file (.srt).

    any suggestions would help.

    thanks.

Open the video in VirtualDUB and delete so much frames that only the number of frames remains that you want too add to the video. Use the fill-filter to make the video totaly black. Compress the video with the same codec that the original video uses. You will get a short (totally black) video with a very small filesize and the same specifications as the original. Now you can join the two videos in VD. Maybe you also need to resync or recompress the audio but you will find out ...
