    Flask Question

I have used flask 5.94 with good results but on a couple of movies I get the slight lines that fade in and out, is there an easy way to fix this problem? Thanks

lines you see in the video occur when encoding from an interlaced source. they are callled artifacts. 2 get rid of them you need to deinterlace the source, by applying a filter.

this topic has been mentioned so many times if this very forum, so its best if you search the forum first, then post any problems.

Flask is not good at all in removing interlace artifacts. You should use other programs in this case. I recommend DVD2AVI -> GordianKnot (GK).

GK has the option to either Deinterlace or Inverse Telecine the video material. This should help you remove interlacing artifacts easily. If you prefer doing it manually, use vFAPI (instead of GK) and apply the individual filters of virtualdub. The method of use of the DivX codec will be the same as you would do it in Flask.
