    virtualdub video capture system requirements

    does anybody know the minimum system requirements to capture video directly
    i'm running a pretty weak system and was wondering if at all possible
    e.g.
    vcr~>nvidia tuner card~>virtualdub~>avi
    no life just digital

    Depends on the capturing-format. With 320x240@10fps you could even use an pc with 100MHz or lower. If you want VCD-quality you should have at least 200MHz and for near-SVCD-quality you should have more than 500MHz. That's the minimum if you use simple codecs like uncompressed/huffyuv/Indeo. For DivX-compression 1GHz or more are usefull.

      that's what i needed

      is there possibly a guide to getting started?
      i've read a few things here and there
      but i lost the page where they talk about it.
      so do you know if a normal nvidia tv tuner card works to capture into divx and wm8
