    pixels

i encoded a movie and it's perfect accept for few parts of the movie where pixels get distorded. for example if person moves it leaves trace behind it; it's like you see a bunch of frames together on a part of the screen while the movie keeps rolling. this lasts for a couple of seconds and then picture becomes normal. i've noticed that this usually happens just before the scene is about to change (but sometimes also in the middle of the scene). i made a movie for 2 cd's.
i would like to know what causes this so next time i encode a movie i don't need to worry about this.
i use dvd2avi, vfapi, graphedit for audio and nadub 1.0 rc2

It is usually associated with low bitrate, though in your case of 2 CDs, it should not be the case. Try using M$ MPEG-4 V2.

i forgot to say that i used pretty big resolution - 704x336. maybe this has something to do with it. what do you think?

The resolution looks fine. Try applying a Smoother filter (Or Temporal one) and see if it makes a difference.
