I ripped two movies in GKnot, using DivX 5.0.2 2-pass encoding to make 700mb, a 94 minute movie at 948 kb, 640x352 (or something similar), and another one (a 111 minute movie) at 660 kb, 640x352
I can say that this 300kb plus made no difference, and the can't compare with great results I got using FlaskMPEG with DivX 4.12 and 3.11 alpha low motion
I know GKnot has many incredible features, such as Sharp Bicubic resizing, apart from bitrate control, but it seems that DivX 5.0.2 is not as good as i was told, i used the Pro features (gmc, bidirectional encoding, quarter pixels and normal psycho enhancements in the first one, gmc and bi-encoding in the second one) but the results cannot mach a 640x352 movie in DivX 4.12
Maybe i'm doing things in a wrong way, but the movie loses quality when using field deinterlace............i encode credits separately, but that doesn't seem to help........i'll try to use it with nandub to use DivX 3.11 SBC.
