Looking for a guide to GK with 5.02 pro

Ok, so genuis boy here (that would be me) went and encoded the entire "beutiful mind" dvd using this guide:

After finishing, i noticed some artifacts in the video, and the sound did not line up at all. In searching for the solution, i noticed that the guide i followed specifies PAL Only! Of course, it was a NTSC dvd i ripped. Im not very happy with Flask right now, so im wondering if someone can suggest a good intermediate guide for converting NTSC with Gordians Knot and divx 5.02 pro. Thanks a lot, sorry for being a NewB but its been a while since i have done this

      How bout this guide?

I glanced over the doom9 guide, but it doesnt seem to explain very much. What do you think of this guide?

Well for starters it doesn't seem to cover NTCS encoding either.

Maybe it's more newbie friendly, but it's hard for me to tell.

And of course there are few minor points, where I would disagree with everwicked.
