Ogg Vorbis

This may sound very n00bish... but then again I am a n00b when it comes to Ogg Vorbis.

What I'm wondering is, is it possible to use Ogg like any other codec so that you can use for example Virtualdub to encode the audio?

No, you can't do that. You need to create the ogg audio stream using a seperate program, personally I like oggmachine. And you can't use ogg audio with avi files, you must use ogg media files.

to hell with proprietary software - but I'll continue using mp3 still
