I have converted my DVD's to Divx using Gardian Knot using mainly default options and just muxing the ac3 stream so I can maintain DD sound.
I had a pain getting the ac3 to play (pass through the sound card to my receiver) and installed an audio pack that installed MMswitcher then installed WinDVD and it correctly passed the sound and worked! I had to use zoom player and unregister all of the codecs and then reinstall one at a time untill I found a combination that worked though...
Unfortunately, WinDVD can't FF or RW so I tried ATI's File player and it will play and FF RW but after a FF or RW the sound seems to "click" in and out and pop and eventually drops out all together. Is this a codec problem or an encoding problem? Any ideas?
Also, is there a way to keep the chapters when I encode my DVD's to DivX?
Thanks,
Ray
