Hissing muffled noise during playback

Some of my DivX movies have some extra junk noise during playback when I use DivX Player 2.0 Alpha. I just ripped Stargate and I have this noise. First I had to sellect the 2nd audio track because the first was DTS and I had to redo the DVD2AVI thing again. I was thinking I might have some interference from some electrical appliance or something so I leave unnessesary appliances off during processing; this doesn't help. The movies usually sound okay with MicroDVD though. Any suggestions?

If you are saying that these files play without background noise under players other than DivX Player 2.0 Alpha, it would appear to be that this individual player, and not the file, is causing the audio problem. The fact that you've indicated that it's an alpha version would typically mean that it's subject to being buggy.

Enjoy viewing (and listening to) your videos with a more stable player, such as the very reliable v.6.4 of Windows Media Player.
