Some AVIs not working w WMP8 but only w/WMP6.4

Is there a reason why some AVI Divx movies does not play thru Windows Media Player in 8.0? It would only play the sound and also saying its is 17 hrs long The same movies would only work in the WMP 6.4. Both players being used in XP.

Is there anyone else having this problem and is there a way this can be fix?

Stick with v.6.4, as it is the only version of Windows Media Player that FULLY handles ALL versions of DivX codecs properly...
