Can't playback with WMP, but can in Virtual dub!HELP!

Here's the problem:

I open Two Towers in Media Player. I get audio, but the video is all messed up. It has a green background and has the video in there, but it's not watchable. It's like the the green background and video mix together. It's pretty ugly.

But when i open the movie up in Virtual Dub, it gives me an error:

"VirtualDub has dected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 8476ms of skew from the video stream. If this unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder"

Then it opens up Two Towers and it looks and play perfectly!!!

But how do i save it so that media player will help? I'm a newbie with Virtual Dub and trying to learn this so i don't have to ask what might be dumb questions here!! Thanks yall.

Can you post the file information you get from VDub?
File-->File Information

What version of WMP are you using?

Try opening the file in NanDub
Then set both Video and audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy.
Save as new .avi [F7]

I've attached a jpg of the file info from the avi file.

Also, I used Nandub to do the direct stream copy of the audio and video, but the finished product was the same as the original. Keep the ideas coming! Thanks again.

Try the older WMP 6.4
Start-->Run-->Mplayer2.exe

You might also want to try a different XviD decoder.

Actually, i solved it! I found another post by someone with the same problem (my bad for not searching for this previously, kinda jumped the gun).

Here's what they said,

"In standard installation nimo selects Ffdshow Directshow 2002-04-19 under Direct Show filters - deselect this filter and that should do the trick.
"
