My ASF can only allows play, not jump to any point

Hi all,


I got this asf movie can only play, but not allows to jump to any point of the movie. I used media player 8. Do I need a license? or just need a different movie player in order to forward.

That's typical of most .ASF files (especially if you've captured a streaming video)...

Sure, if it's truly .ASF and not the most recent incarnation of .WMV.

Download and install version 1.3C or older (NOT NEWER!) of VirtualDub, which will accept .ASF files for input.

If not already on your system, download and install DivX v.3.11alpha codec, which will automatically additionally install the Radium (Fraunhoefer hack) .MP3 audio codec.

Use VirtualDub in conjunction with these codecs to convert your .ASF to a DivX-compressed .AVI file with .MP3 audio.

(I'd suggest that when selecting the DivX v.3.11alpha codec in VirtualDub that you set the keyframe frequency to "every 1 second")
