    Improving playback from CD

    Hi,

I always burn all my films to CD, then watch them from there. Some films are really jittery though, stopping and starting every so often - really annoying! I have a fast CD-ROM (48x) and a fast processor (1.5GHz) - does anyone have any tips for improving playback - any way of buffering more data.

    Thanks,
    Chumpiton

Try enabling DMA if your cd-drive supports it.

It does support it - and is enabled.

Have you tried burning at a lower speed? Also, I have noticed that the quality of cd's matters. On some cd's I recieved jerky playaback and the only solution was to copy it to hd, and it would then play flawlessly. Use "good" CD-r/rw's such as those from FUJI, Tayo Yuden sp?, Verbatim, Memorex (RITEK).
