Divx AVI's suddenly play back at 2fps!

With help from this forum, I got ffdshow and the Playa running, and everything was great.

In fact, I was blown away by the high quality of Divx 5 playback.

But starting yesterday, the files play back at about 2 frames per second!

I haven't installed anything else on my PC since it last worked.

I'm running a 2.4 GHz P4 with a Gig of RAM, and my hard drives are all defragged.

What would cause this slowdown, and how do I fix it?
MPG files still play fine.

I had the same problem...

turned out i had used "resize" for another movie and that option doesn't show ticked in the prefs index like the others, i overlooked it for a long time. ffdshow also needs restarting after disabling this one oposite to most of the other options.

Maybe you also have some other high costing options turned on in ffdshow? most of them i have no idea what does
