running details in WM9 playback window?

Hoping some of you wizards can give a noobie some help...
I'm playing an avi file in WM9, at first had audio, no vid. analysed with gspot , said file was divx3 lo=motion & I had a divx decoder
installed..actually using ffdshow latest alpha. Had a look in it's config & noted that divx3 was unchecked, so set this to use libavcodec ( only option ).
Now the avi file plays video, but is overlaid with running details such as fps,frame #, cpu load, frame type etc etc!?
Rather than just load up another codec( eg the 3.11a) I'm sure
ffdshow can be tweaked up , there's a hell of a lot of options in there....
I'm sure this is a simple problem , but being a simple soul could someone assist pls
