QT Alternative won't play divx files

hi, all of a sudden quicktime alternative (current up to 9/20/03 media player classic 6.4.6.5) won't play any divx, mpeg or any other files. it will only play .mov files without a problem. everything had been working fine, the only thing different i did was install then uninstall orion studios directdvd 5.2, after that media player classic quit playing divx files. i tried the divx files on other players and they play fine. here is the error i get: "Media Player Classic has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." any advice?

Uninstall then reinstall media player classic 6.4.6.5...

If you're running WindowsXP, simply roll back to before you installed orion studios directdvd 5.2.

(Otherwise, have a cookie...)
