General Movie Clip Playback Slowdowns

Hi,

I'm not sure if this problem specifically relates to DiVX codecs, but every movie clip that I play has slowdowns. It doesn't matter if it's an actual DVD playing or a DiVX avi clip, it'll have slowdowns once in every 2 minutes about.


Can anyone help please?

Turn off any unnecessary programs that may be running in the background...

What else should I do?
