embeded subtitles play with HTML code through them :(

Hi i am trying to play an ogg file with embeded subtitles, the subtitles are showing html code through them, mostly just colour info, can anyone tell me how i can fix it so the subtitles are displayed correctly?

i've tried all sorts of players and codecs
