i have a bunch of AVI files that wont play. all my players (wm player, real player,quicktime) say that they cant play that type of file. can someone PLEASE tell me if there is some player i can get or something i can do to watch these AVI files.

You need to have the appropriate codec for the particular AVI file installed in your system.. What codec it should be you have to find out via Virtualdub -> File Information, though I'd hazard that you simply need the DivX codec for playing these files. -

well, its a zip FILE FOR THE VIRTUAL DUB AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO ALL THAT so is there any other way?Comment

1. Download Winzip(I hope you're not going to ask me where to get this)
2. Download the Virtualdub zip file
3. Use Winzip to unzip the Virtualdub zip file
4. You are set to use Virtualdub now
