playing lo res files in full screen

I am struggling to find out how to play downloaded AVI's & other DIVX files that come in lo res ie like 320X200 , in full screen mode, either on the monitor or on my TV

I now use a 64mg Matrox G400 "twinhead" card on a decent XP run machine, with the latest codecs, using Win MP / Divx Playa / Quick time etc etc.....
I have tried lotsa ways, including "TV out".
Does any one have any info re this ?
